The Mountaineer's compact 1.5 pound (approximate) head with it's bearded blade and hammer head poll bring great versatility to the table. The bearded blade allows choking up behind the edge, providing greater control for finer tasks like making fire starter or even food prep. The beard also provides for a wider blade on a lighter head. A hardened hammerhead makes this axe balanced and more suitable for hammering nails, posts, pegs, and stakes than other axes in its same weight class, like our Mini Camper. Optionally, you can choose to add a custom leather sheath below.
